Capgemini is seeking an experienced Project Engineer specializing in Civil Layout and Balance of Site to join their team in Bristol. This role involves delivering comprehensive structural engineering analysis, design, and assessment for a variety of civil infrastructure projects within the GBEâ??N programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and reviewing structural calculations, creating detailed models and drawings, and preparing technical reports and specifications. They will support the development of design validation and technical documentation to ensure all work complies with project standards, regulatory requirements, and governance protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis, design, and evaluation for reinforced concrete, steel, and civil infrastructure projects.
- Create and review calculations, develop models, and produce detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Assist in developing design validation documents and technical reports to meet project and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, process, construction, and safety engineers to develop integrated solutions.
- Conduct assessments under various loading conditions, including environmental and seismic loads when necessary.
- Participate in design review meetings, technical assurance activities, and resolve engineering queries effectively.
- Ensure all designs are compliant with relevant UK and international codes, standards, and safety regulations such as CDM 2015.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, knowledge sharing, and mentoring of junior engineers and recent graduates.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with progress towards Chartered Engineer status or equivalent experience.
- Practical experience in analyzing and designing reinforced concrete, steel, and civil structures.
- Strong knowledge of UK and international design codes, structural behavior under complex loads, and assurance processes.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software and digital engineering tools.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in regulated industries is a plus.
