Capgemini is seeking an experienced Project Engineer specializing in Civil Layout and Balance of Site to join their team in Bristol. This role involves delivering comprehensive structural engineering analysis, design, and assessment for a variety of civil infrastructure projects within the GBEâ??N programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and reviewing structural calculations, creating detailed models and drawings, and preparing technical reports and specifications to support project execution.
In addition, the engineer will assist in developing design validation and technical documentation to ensure compliance with all project, regulatory, and governance standards. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, process, construction, and safety teams to develop integrated engineering solutions that meet project requirements.
You will perform assessments under various loading conditions, including normal, construction, environmental, and extreme scenarios, with seismic considerations where necessary. Participation in design reviews, technical assurance activities, and resolving engineering queries will be integral to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Ensuring all designs conform to relevant codes, standards, quality requirements, and health and safety regulations such as CDM 2015 is essential. The role also involves supporting continuous improvement initiatives, sharing knowledge across teams, and mentoring junior engineers and recent graduates to foster professional growth.
Candidate Profile
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with progress towards Chartered Engineer status or equivalent experience.
- Experience in analyzing and designing reinforced concrete, steel, and civil structures.
- Strong knowledge of UK and international structural design codes and understanding of structural behavior under complex loads.
- Familiarity with engineering assurance processes and standards.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software and digital engineering tools.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams; experience in regulated industries is a plus.
