The Quantitative Analytics team at Barclays is a global leader in model development and analytics, providing essential quantitative advice across the bank. As a participant in this program, you will have the chance to work within specialized teams, such as:
- Markets Quants: This team focuses on supporting the Capital Markets division, engaging in the research, development, testing, and implementation of quantitative models for pricing, valuation adjustments, and risk management across various asset classes.
- Statistical Modelling Quants: This group comprises data scientists and engineers who support Finance, Treasury, and Risk operations, developing models for default probabilities, forecasting, and fraud detection using advanced technologies.
Your experience will begin with intensive training covering essential product knowledge and skills, followed by hands-on collaboration with colleagues on active projects. You will play a vital role in designing and developing risk management and trading strategies through quantitative analysis and mathematical modeling.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quantitative models and strategies to enhance decision-making, pricing, and risk management.
- Design and maintain high-performance trading platforms and risk systems, integrating new features to improve reliability and user experience.
- Conduct research and data analysis to uncover market trends and drive innovation through advanced methodologies and technologies.
- Collaborate with traders, sales teams, and stakeholders in Risk and Finance to deliver customized solutions and translate business needs into scalable tech tools.
- Work cross-functionally with compliance, IT, and strategy teams to resolve system issues and continuously improve trading infrastructure.
Candidate Profile
To qualify for this program, you should have completed or be nearing completion of a postgraduate qualification in a technical discipline such as Physics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Economics, Statistics, Calculus, Computer Science, or other STEM fields. Ideal candidates will possess:
- Strong mathematical and programming skills, preferably in C++ or Python.
- Logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
