We are seeking a Red Team Operations Manager to join our Adversary Emulation (AE) team at G-Research, a leading quantitative research and technology firm. This role is integral to our Security Assurance function, providing critical insights into the security of our information systems to the Board and Executive Management Team. The AE team simulates various internal and external threat actors to rigorously test our systems and processes, creating a dynamic environment for continuous learning and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the strategic direction of the AE program, enhancing team capabilities and operational tools.
- Lead the execution of AE operations, ensuring they are well-defined, professionally conducted, and provide tangible value to the organization.
- Provide technical guidance during operations, upholding high standards of operational security, tradecraft, and decision-making.
- Collaborate with various teams within the organization to optimize operational results and facilitate organizational learning.
- Mentor and develop team members, promoting a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and professionalism.
Who We Are Looking For
- Extensive experience in managing complex offensive security operations, preferably in technology or financial sectors.
- Proven track record in leading and nurturing specialized technical teams.
- Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complex environments effectively.
- Capability to identify innovative attack vectors while ensuring realistic threat emulation.
- Excellent decision-making abilities, with experience in leading teams and achieving results in uncertain situations.
- Administrator-level proficiency in both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Strong scripting skills in languages such as Powershell or Python, along with programming experience in C/C++, Go, or C#.
- In-depth knowledge of offensive security practices, operational security, and defensive technologies.
- Ability to adopt both attacker and defender perspectives to enhance security measures.
- Dedication to mentoring others and exemplifying professional behavior.
