The Research Team and Role
The Neo4j Research team is dedicated to creating innovative technology options to keep the company’s products at the forefront of the market. The team is composed of computer scientists passionate about building foundational technologies that underpin future graph intelligence solutions. The selected candidates will be involved in designing and implementing a new database architecture from scratch, including theoretical research, system development, and performance evaluation.
This position is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in systems research, query languages, database internals, compiler construction, parallel and distributed computing, or hardware acceleration. Experience with programming languages such as C++, Java, or Rust, and familiarity with compiler tools like LLVM, or hardware platforms such as GPGPUs or FPGAs, will be advantageous.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant will have a PhD or equivalent research experience, with a strong understanding of complex system design and development. Prior work in academic or industrial research environments, along with a robust grasp of research practices, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate experience in system implementation, performance benchmarking, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
