Amazon is looking for a skilled Robotics System Integration & Deployment Engineer II to spearhead the initial deployment of advanced automation technologies and create thorough documentation for global rollouts within our fulfillment network. This position is part of the Robotics Delivery and Packaging Innovation International team, dedicated to transforming complex automation technologies into efficient, deployable solutions worldwide.
The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in leading automation deployments from conception to launch, coupled with strong technical problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for managing the entire deployment process, including the creation of detailed schedules and coordination with cross-functional teams, vendors, and site teams. Your role will involve simplifying deployment complexities into standardized procedures for downstream teams, enhancing your learning through exposure to various technologies and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end deployment lifecycle from planning to go-live, managing on-site execution during Alpha and Beta phases, including installation, commissioning, and validation.
- Align cross-functional teams, vendors, and site teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Transform deployment complexity into scalable solutions by creating and improving comprehensive documentation and deliverables.
- Evaluate and deliver large-scale automation technologies, including conveyance, sortation, and robotics systems.
- Collaborate with product, safety, deployment, quality, and vendor teams throughout the project lifecycle.
A Day in the Life
You will take full ownership of first-time deployments, from developing detailed project schedules to coordinating with site teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders. During deployment execution, you will be on-site leading all aspects of implementation until go-live. Daily interactions with diverse functional teams across multiple time zones will be essential, as you conduct regular meetings with internal teams, stakeholders, and vendors. Building relationships with subject matter experts will be crucial as you analyze the technologies deployed. The dynamic nature of this role ensures that no two days are alike, providing ample opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative team environment.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or relevant work experience.
- Experience leading automation deployment projects from planning through commissioning.
- Hands-on experience with robotics, material handling systems, or warehouse automation technologies.
- Proven track record of creating technical documentation for field teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% during EU deployment seasons.
- Experience troubleshooting complex technical systems on-site.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotic deployments in warehouse or fulfillment environments.
- Background managing vendor relationships and external contractors during technology implementations.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Project management certification (PMP, Scrum, Agile).
- Experience with Amazon Robotics or similar warehouse automation platforms.
- Masterâ??s degree in engineering or related STEM field.
- Experience training field teams on new technology implementations.
