Twilio is seeking a dedicated Security Engineer specializing in Incident Response to join their remote team based in the United Kingdom or Ireland. This role is integral to maintaining and enhancing the security posture of Twilioâ??s extensive global infrastructure, services, and applications. The successful candidate will lead the technical response to security events, ensuring swift triage, containment, remediation, and post-incident improvements. They will work closely with R&D Engineering and Business teams to develop scalable security processes and technical solutions, automating responses wherever possible to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support the response to all security incidents across Twilioâ??s complex infrastructure and services worldwide.
- Thoroughly document incidents and projects, creating detailed runbooks and standard operating procedures to share knowledge across teams.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand and resolve challenges posed by different threat actors and cyber activities.
- Drive improvements in Twilioâ??s security and reliability by implementing enhancements based on incident insights.
- Rapidly acquire new technical skills in a fast-paced, disruptive industry environment.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of security incidents, including on-call response and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to identify needs and develop impactful solutions.
- Mentor team members to support their long-term career development, job satisfaction, and success at scale.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of three yearsâ?? experience in security incident response within a cloud environment.
- Expert knowledge of security issues, technologies, and best practices.
- Ability to utilize AI tools for complex incident response activities, delivering high-fidelity detection results.
- Deep understanding of service-oriented architectures and cloud security tools.
- Experience working across diverse technology stacks on challenging security initiatives.
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms and extending their functionalities.
- Hands-on experience with SOAR tools and automating manual security processes.
- Experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing and building effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
Additional Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of AI model security and posture management, including implementing controls against vulnerabilities like prompt injections and data poisoning.
- Experience with AI-driven threat response, utilizing GenAI and large language models to interpret alerts and reduce false positives.
- Ability to collect and analyze intrusion artifacts, malware, and source code for forensic purposes.
- Monitoring external threat intelligence sources to analyze trends and proactively defend against emerging risks.
