Capgemini is seeking a highly experienced Senior AI Data Engineer to join their team in London. This role involves designing, building, and scaling advanced data platforms that provide trusted, intelligent access to enterprise information. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy scalable, secure, and reliable data platforms that support advanced analytics and AI-driven business results, ensuring trusted data access across the organization.
- Build and optimize enterprise data pipelines that transform complex data into high-quality assets suitable for analytics, reporting, and AI applications.
- Implement strong data quality, governance, monitoring, and validation practices to maintain data integrity and reliability.
- Create reusable data products, frameworks, and services to improve engineering efficiency and speed up data and AI project delivery.
- Design and maintain semantic models that unify understanding of business metrics, entities, and relationships across the enterprise.
- Enable self-service analytics and natural language data access by developing semantic frameworks that simplify data discovery for business users.
- Utilize Generative AI to automate data engineering processes, generate metadata, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Design AI-powered solutions for intelligent data retrieval, contextual discovery, and conversational enterprise knowledge access.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders, architects, data teams, and AI specialists to convert business challenges into scalable, impactful solutions.
- Promote engineering excellence, continuous learning, and the adoption of AI-fluent practices to develop future-proof data capabilities.
Required Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing enterprise-scale data engineering solutions and modern data platforms.
- Expertise in building scalable data ingestion, transformation, and processing frameworks for various data types.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing, dimensional and semantic modeling, metadata management, and data governance.
- Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization and high-performance analytical solution design.
- Proficiency in Python for data engineering, automation, and platform development tasks.
- Experience with cloud-native data architectures that are scalable, secure, and resilient.
- Strong knowledge of data quality, validation, observability, and reliability engineering practices.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise semantic layers, business metrics, data cataloging, and metadata-driven architectures.
- Experience delivering Generative AI solutions such as Retrieval-augmented Generation (RAG), AI-assisted data discovery, and enterprise knowledge retrieval systems.
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), vector search, embeddings, and semantic retrieval techniques.
- Ability to design intelligent agents for data discovery, query generation, and workflow automation.
- Understanding of enterprise data security, governance, compliance, and responsible AI principles.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
- A genuine passion for AI innovation and developing future-ready data solutions within large organizations.
