Join Deliveroo as a Senior Analytics Engineer and be part of a team dedicated to transforming data into actionable insights that empower business decisions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality datasets that are clean, tested, and well-documented, enabling data scientists and business users to access reliable data through tools like Snowflake and Looker.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain datasets that are optimized for analysis, ensuring they are accurate, well-structured, and easy to interpret.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to ensure source data models align with downstream analytical requirements.
• Maintain and improve SQL scripts used for data transformation, ensuring efficiency and correctness.
• Provide guidance to data scientists on data modeling techniques to produce denormalized and aggregated datasets suitable for analysis.
• Work with analytics engineers and data scientists to surface intuitive and user-friendly datasets within the Looker BI platform.
• Lead initiatives to optimize Looker as a core data product, supporting approximately 1500 active users who rely on data discovery and interaction.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least six years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or business intelligence engineering roles.
• Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling techniques.
• Experience working with cloud-based MPP data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Knowledge of developing data models and structuring tables to meet analytical needs.
• Familiarity with BI tools, especially Looker or similar platforms.
• Good understanding of version control practices for managing code changes.
• Experience with SQL-based ETL/ELT processes and managing script dependencies using DAGs.
• Proficiency in Python, particularly for automation and integration tasks.
• Experience with the Looker API to extend and enhance platform capabilities.
