Wheely is seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join their innovative team based in London, UK. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain high-performance backend systems that support real-time ride matching, booking, and payment functionalities.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure the backend infrastructure aligns with product goals and user needs.
- Create and optimize APIs and server-side logic to facilitate smooth operation of the platform.
- Implement security measures and data privacy protocols to protect user information.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment to maintain high standards of code quality and reliability.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in architecture, including database management and cloud infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot technical issues efficiently to minimize downtime and service impact.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies and incorporate innovative solutions into the platform.
Qualifications and Skills
- Significant experience in backend development, with proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
- Experience designing and working with RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Knowledge of cloud services like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, including deployment and scaling techniques.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
- Understanding of security standards and data privacy regulations relevant to user data.
- Ability to produce clean, well-documented, and efficient code.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Experience working in agile environments is advantageous.
