We are currently looking for a Senior Commercial Legal Counsel to join our Legal team, focusing on Contracts and Commercial matters. This role, based in either Paris or London, will be crucial in supporting our business by drafting contracts and agreements that facilitate revenue generation. You will also lead contract negotiations and adapt agreements to comply with evolving AI regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the business by drafting contracts, agreements, and terms to facilitate deal-making and revenue generation.
  • Lead contract negotiations and adapt contracts in response to evolving AI regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Supervise the EMEA commercial legal team, acting as the first point of escalation and providing decision-making support.
  • Develop structural resources for the commercial legal team and other stakeholders, including go-to-market teams and procurement.
  • Draft, update, and provide strategic advice on a variety of contracts, particularly those related to AI services.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, partners, customers, and other stakeholders, including markup, arguments, and strategies.
  • Stay informed about the latest products and AI-related legal developments, and guide their translation into contract adaptations and negotiations.
  • Provide training and support to the business on legal and compliance matters related to AI and contract negotiation.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in law; bar admission is a plus.
  • 8-10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a technology or AI-focused environment with a focus on contract negotiation.
  • Understanding of artificial intelligence technologies and their applications.
  • Good knowledge of relevant legal areas, including data privacy, intellectual property, contract law, regulatory compliance, and liability.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex legal and technical issues related to AI and identify potential legal risks and solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal concepts clearly.
  • International mindset and experience is a plus.
  • Adaptable and willing to continuously learn in response to the rapidly evolving nature of AI technologies and legal landscapes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong ethical awareness regarding AI considerations such as fairness, transparency, accountability, and bias mitigation.
