Senior Corporate Security Engineer Overview

Deliveroo is seeking a highly experienced Senior Corporate Security Engineer to lead the development and management of security controls that protect the company’s internal networks, employee identities, endpoints, and corporate systems worldwide. This role involves working closely with global security teams across the US, EU, and APAC regions to meet security objectives, reduce risks, and enhance control maturity. The successful candidate will operate with significant autonomy, defining technical strategies, making architectural decisions, and delivering complex security projects from start to finish. The role emphasizes balancing robust security measures with operational usability to ensure employee productivity is maintained.

• Security logging and detection engineering
• Secure SaaS enablement

Core Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain essential security controls such as multi-factor authentication resistant to phishing, Just-In-Time access, strict role-based access controls, zero-trust architectures, device and identity verification, and network segmentation.
• Manage and serve as the technical owner for a variety of security tools, overseeing deployment, configuration, and API integrations within the corporate environment.
• Lead technical initiatives related to endpoint device trust, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), intellectual property security, and SaaS application security, integrating these with broader security controls.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline security workflows, incident response, and compliance evidence collection.
• Collaborate with IT and business teams to embed security into daily operations and guide non-security teams to adopt secure baseline configurations, such as CIS Benchmarks.
• Mentor junior and mid-level security engineers, communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical colleagues, and contribute to the improvement of engineering standards within the security team.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelorâ??s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in security engineering, detection and response, or related areas.
• Experience managing IAM platforms like Okta or Google Workspace.
• Deep practical knowledge of Google Workspace security features.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
• Experience implementing modern authentication standards including FIDO2, WebAuthn, SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect.
• Hands-on experience securing endpoints across macOS, Windows, and Linux using MDM and EDR/XDR tools.
• Experience operating SIEM and SOAR platforms, including tuning detection logic.
• Knowledge of vulnerability management and patching processes.
• Ability to develop automation scripts suitable for production environments.
• Proven leadership in cross-functional security projects.

Additional Desirable Skills

• Experience with SASE or Zero Trust Network Access platforms.
• Hands-on experience deploying applications in Kubernetes (K8) and Docker environments.
• Knowledge of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and SaaS security governance.
• Advanced detection engineering or SOAR playbook development skills.
• Experience supporting ISO 27001 or SOC 2 audits.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC.
