Our client, an innovative and rapidly expanding technology company based in Cambridge, is seeking an experienced Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join their team. This role involves taking a lead or expert position in managing all security-related aspects of their cloud platform, infrastructure, and live production environments. The company specializes in building cloud services tailored for the AI and deeptech communities, supported by significant investment and a strong growth trajectory.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume a leadership role in implementing and maintaining security best practices across the company’s cloud infrastructure and production systems.
- Design, develop, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using programming languages such as Python, Go, Bash, or similar tools.
- Manage identity and access management (IAM) systems, including identity federation protocols to ensure secure access controls.
- Configure and optimize network components like Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), virtual networks (VNet), subnets, routing, VPNs, and private endpoints to ensure secure and efficient connectivity.
- Oversee compute resources, including Kubernetes clusters, virtual machines, and serverless architectures, ensuring their security and performance.
- Handle storage solutions and managed database services within the cloud environment, ensuring data security and availability.
- Monitor and optimize cloud expenditure, ensuring resource efficiency and governance compliance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in live environments, working closely with key customers to maintain system stability and security.
- Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to strengthen the company’s security posture.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience working with cloud infrastructure, especially on AWS and other hyperscale cloud platforms.
- Strong programming skills for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with experience in Python, Go, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Deep understanding of IAM systems and identity federation techniques.
- Comprehensive knowledge of networking concepts such as VPCs, subnets, routing, VPNs, and private endpoints.
- Experience with compute services including Kubernetes, virtual machines, and serverless solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud storage and managed database services.
- Ability to analyze and optimize cloud costs and implement resource governance strategies.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills in production environments, with a customer-focused approach.
- Educational background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Additional beneficial experience includes working within secure multi-tenant environments, HPC administration, and familiarity with compliance standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.
