Our client, a leading global software and engineering technology organization based in Cambridge, is seeking to expand its software engineering team with a talented Senior Full Stack Software Engineer. This role involves working on a variety of new development projects for a prominent public-facing web and cloud platform that is utilized extensively worldwide by the engineering community. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web services that deliver high value and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to create and sustain scalable web services for a major public platform used globally by engineers.
• Lead or contribute to new development initiatives, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from planning and coding to testing and deployment.
• Design and implement engaging user interfaces using TypeScript and React, ensuring responsiveness and usability.
• Develop reliable backend systems with Python or Go, focusing on performance and robustness.
• Utilize GraphQL APIs to enable flexible data interactions and improve platform capabilities.
• Manage relational databases such as MySQL, optimizing data storage and retrieval processes.
• Engage in containerized development workflows, including Docker, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
• Work with Kubernetes to orchestrate containerized applications, ensuring scalability and resilience.
• Implement search and data analysis features using Elasticsearch, where applicable.

Candidate Requirements

• At least four years of professional experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer or in a similar role, with a proven track record in web application development.
• Strong expertise in front-end development with TypeScript and React.
• Solid experience in backend development using Python or Go.
• Experience with GraphQL API design and implementation is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL, including query optimization.
• Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and CI/CD practices.
• Understanding of Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Optional experience with Elasticsearch for search functionalities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
