Senior Manager, Security Architecture Overview

Anaplan is seeking a Senior Manager for Security Architecture to lead the development of a formal security architecture practice. This role is pivotal in transforming security architecture into a deliberate and reusable asset for the company, focusing on creating reference architectures, identity and authorization patterns, cryptography standards, and AI guardrail designs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the architecture review process, ensuring that security patterns are adopted by engineering teams, and establishing security engineering principles that guide platform development. This position requires collaboration with platform engineering to ensure that security architecture aligns with the operational realities of Anaplan’s products, including the Hyperblock and Polaris engines.

Key responsibilities include leading architecture and design reviews for high-risk changes, ensuring compliance with enterprise and regulatory requirements, and converting architectural decisions into policy-as-code. Additionally, the Senior Manager will build and mentor a high-performing architecture team, maintaining a consistent technical standard.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in building or leading security architecture in a SaaS or cloud-first environment.
• Strong credibility in identity and authorization, cryptography, secure-by-design principles, and threat modeling.
• Hands-on technical expertise to assess and challenge designs.
• Demonstrated people leadership skills, including hiring and performance management.
• Experience aligning security architecture with enterprise and regulatory standards.
• Understanding of AI’s impact on architecture, including identity and authorization considerations.
