Senior Manager, Security Architecture Overview

Anaplan is seeking a Senior Manager for Security Architecture to lead the development of a formal security architecture practice. This role is crucial in transforming security architecture into a reusable asset for the company, which includes creating reference architectures, identity and authorization patterns, cryptography standards, and AI guardrail designs. As the leader of this practice, you will report to the Director of Product Security and will be responsible for ensuring that security architecture becomes a default consideration in engineering processes.

The successful candidate will be tasked with defining the architecture review process, establishing reusable security patterns, and setting security engineering principles that guide platform development. You will also lead architecture and design reviews for high-risk changes, collaborate with platform engineering teams, and ensure compliance with enterprise and regulated environments. Additionally, you will convert architectural decisions into policy-as-code to enhance operational efficiency.

To qualify for this role, candidates should have a proven track record in security architecture within a SaaS or cloud-first environment, demonstrating strong credibility in identity and authorization, cryptography, and secure-by-design principles. Hands-on technical expertise is essential for evaluating designs, along with demonstrated leadership skills in managing a senior team. Experience in aligning security architecture with enterprise requirements and a clear understanding of AI’s impact on architecture are also necessary.
