Senior MIM Engineer Overview

Capgemini is seeking an experienced Senior Microsoft Identity Management (MIM) Engineer to join their team either in Manchester or Inverness, with the role requiring onsite presence five days a week. This position involves providing advanced support (levels 2 and 3) for a highly customized MIM environment within a secure enterprise setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting identity lifecycle management processes, including provisioning and synchronization services, and troubleshooting complex IAM incidents to ensure system stability and security.

The role requires supporting integrations across various identity platforms such as Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, including hybrid identity environments. The engineer will also be tasked with creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks. Additionally, they will contribute to service improvement initiatives, automation, and platform optimization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver second and third level support for a customized Microsoft Identity Manager environment within a secure enterprise network.
• Manage identity lifecycle processes, including provisioning and synchronization services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex identity and access management issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing permanent fixes.
• Support integrations with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and other identity platforms, including hybrid configurations.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks to ensure operational clarity.
• Participate in initiatives aimed at improving service quality, automating processes, and optimizing platform performance.
• Work closely with security, infrastructure, and operational teams to ensure IAM services are stable, secure, and efficient.

Candidate Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) in large enterprise environments, especially with customized implementations.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within IAM systems.
• Experience providing operational support at levels 2 and 3 for critical identity management services.
• Strong understanding of IAM principles, including onboarding, offboarding, identity lifecycle management, and access governance.
• Experience working with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and hybrid identity solutions.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting, with the ability to review and troubleshoot C#/.NET code used in MIM customizations.
• Excellent analytical skills and troubleshooting capabilities for resolving complex provisioning, synchronization, and access issues.
• Desirable skills include experience with Okta, BeyondTrust, Privileged Access Management solutions, CyberArk, SailPoint, or Microsoft Identity Governance, especially within secure or regulated environments.
