Our AI solutions encompass the entire software and hardware stack, from emerging AI models and application use cases to frameworks, runtimes, compilers, compute platforms, and accelerators.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will lead the architectural and technical direction of Armâ??s AI software portfolio. They will identify future requirements, help developers maximize the potential of current and upcoming Arm platforms, and serve as a key technical authority within the organization. Collaboration with senior engineers, architects, and external partners is essential to ensure alignment and drive innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in designing and reviewing AI-related hardware and software solutions, ensuring technical excellence and strategic alignment.
- Act as a trusted advisor, guiding decision-making processes across teams and organizational boundaries through constructive feedback and consensus-building.
- Facilitate hardware/software co-design efforts, promoting reuse and compatibility across different product stacks and markets.
- Engage with industry experts, customers, and partners to understand emerging AI workloads, models, and application scenarios, translating these insights into future development plans.
- Assess new technological trends and evaluate their implications for Armâ??s AI ecosystem.
- Work with AI frameworks such as PyTorch, ExecuTorch, LiteRT, ONNX, and related tools, optimizing their performance on Arm hardware.
Qualifications and Skills
- Deep experience in software architecture, systems software, or hardware/software co-design, with a thorough understanding of computer and system architecture including processors, memory hierarchies, and heterogeneous computing platforms.
- Strong familiarity with modern AI models and workloads, understanding their computational characteristics and performance considerations.
- Experience with AI frameworks like PyTorch, ExecuTorch, LiteRT, ONNX, and ONNX Runtime, including knowledge of how AI graphs, compilers, runtimes, and kernels operate.
- Proficiency in C and C++, with the ability to directly contribute to software implementations and performance tuning.
- Exceptional technical judgment and problem-solving skills, especially in navigating complex, ambiguous situations and prioritizing critical issues.
- Established professional network within the AI, semiconductor, or software communities, with a track record of building trusted relationships with clients and partners.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing and collaborating effectively across diverse teams and external stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with hardware accelerators such as NPUs, GPUs, DSPs, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of ML compiler technologies like MLIR and LLVM.
- Experience with low-precision inference, large language models, multimodal AI models, Android or Linux AI ecosystems, and embedded or edge computing environments.
- Participation in open-source communities and projects.
