Arm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Security Engineer to join our Vulnerability Research and Tooling team in Cambridge, UK. This role involves building and scaling our central security analysis platform, Metis, which provides backend services and tooling that enable engineering teams across Arm to perform security analysis efficiently, share visibility, and convert security data into actionable insights.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in Python, enjoy tackling complex platform and infrastructure challenges, and have experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS. As an integral member of a small, agile team, you will have significant influence over the technical direction, architecture, and future development of the platform, shaping a tool used extensively across the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and sustain core backend services that form the backbone of the security platform.
  • Create and maintain Python-based services, APIs, and workflow components to support security analysis workflows.
  • Improve the platformâ??s scalability, resilience, and operational stability as user adoption grows.
  • Implement observability features such as metrics collection, dashboards, monitoring, and alerting to ensure platform health and performance.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners to translate requirements into practical platform features.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the platformâ??s backend architecture and integration of new services to enhance capabilities and performance.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong programming skills in Python, with scripting experience in Bash or similar environments.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and operating backend services or internal platforms in production environments.
  • Deep understanding of API design, service-to-service communication, and backend system architecture.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, especially AWS.
  • Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern engineering workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across security and engineering teams.

Nice to Have Skills and Experience

  • Experience with large-scale data analysis pipelines, data processing, or workflow orchestration tools.
  • Knowledge of observability tools, operational metrics, and service health dashboards.
  • Experience integrating AI or machine learning capabilities, including large language models, into production software or developer tools.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and improving AI-assisted workflows, especially in security analysis, code review, or engineering productivity contexts.

The annual salary for this role ranges from £73,500 to £99,500, depending on experience and qualifications.
