Senior UX Designer, Android Onboarding Overview

As a Senior UX Designer focusing on Android Onboarding, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience for one of the world’s leading mobile operating systems. Your primary responsibility will be to design intuitive and engaging onboarding experiences for Android users, ensuring that these experiences are accessible and user-friendly for a diverse audience.

Your role will involve collaborating closely with teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers, and Product Managers throughout the design process. You will be responsible for creating user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that reflect the needs and expectations of users. Your designs will not only need to be functional but also delightful, enhancing the overall user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design for critical projects within the Android devices area.
• Create designs that are scalable across the ecosystem, establishing reusable patterns and design systems while collaborating with OEMs to enhance the global Android onboarding experience.
• Develop and manage the end-to-end UX strategy for complex and ambiguous areas related to Android onboarding, including onboarding and settings design libraries and device lifecycle experiences.
• Maintain and elevate the onboarding design system, ensuring visual and interactive consistency, accessibility, and scalability throughout the Android ecosystem.

Minimum Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Design (such as Interaction, Graphic, Visual Communications, Product, or Industrial), HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 6 years of experience in product design and UX design.
• Experience in designing for consumer-facing mobile applications or data-intensive systems.
• A portfolio that showcases design thinking and execution.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in integrating AI/Generative AI capabilities into user-facing products.
• Ability to drive the design process for ambiguous or emerging areas and define scalable solutions for intricate problems.
• Strong communication skills to articulate design rationale and advocate for user needs to a cross-functional audience.
