Join Arm as a Senior Verification Engineer specializing in Media IP, based in Manchester, UK. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced verification professional to contribute to the development of cutting-edge media processing technologies. The successful candidate will be part of the Arm Systems Media IP team, which focuses on creating and verifying Image Signal Processors (ISPs), Display Processors, and Video codecs. These components are integrated into Arm Compute Subsystems used across various markets such as automotive, Internet of Things (IoT), and consumer devices. The teamâ??s intellectual property includes RTL designs, reference drivers, tools, and libraries that enable customers to build innovative products on top of Arm technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of verification efforts for a DPU subsystem that includes multiple units, overseeing the process from early planning stages through to final sign-off.
- Contribute to the overall verification architecture by designing strategies, planning integration, and setting quality standards.
- Design reusable, scalable, and high-performance verification environments using SystemVerilog and UVM, along with verification IP.
- Create verification plans that define coverage goals, sign-off criteria, and measurable quality benchmarks.
- Identify technical and schedule risks early, develop mitigation plans, and coordinate their execution across teams.
- Review architectural and design changes to ensure correctness, observability, testability, and performance.
- Lead the resolution of complex verification failures at unit, cross-unit, or system levels.
- Coordinate verification activities and dependencies across relevant teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Implement improvements in verification methodology, automation, reuse, regression efficiency, and debugging processes.
- Use verification data to identify quality gaps, improve bug detection, and guide engineering priorities.
- Provide technical guidance and influence project planning through evidence-based recommendations.
- Collaborate with architecture, design, and software teams to ensure successful integration of the DPU into complete systems.
Required Skills and Experience
- Deep hands-on experience with SystemVerilog and UVM, including designing and reviewing complex verification environments.
- Practical knowledge of industry-standard on-chip bus protocols such as AMBA AXI and APB.
- Proven ability to develop verification plans from scratch for complex IP or subsystems, including coverage and sign-off criteria.
- Experience verifying subsystems with multiple units or complex individual units.
- Experience in developing verification testbenches and environments.
- Programming proficiency in Python, C, or similar languages relevant to verification tasks.
- Understanding of verification tools and infrastructure, including regression management, version control, and linting tools.
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with power-aware verification techniques.
- Familiarity with formal verification methods.
- Experience working at the IP or subsystem level.
- Contributions to industry conferences or publication of technical papers.
- Knowledge of performance analysis techniques.
- Experience working with reference models developed in C.
Additional Information
