Signal Integrity Engineer Overview

As a Signal Integrity Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing high-speed signal paths that enable advanced AI computing systems to operate at datacentre scale. Your expertise will be vital in shaping the electrical performance of Graphcore’s hardware platforms, ensuring that 112Gbps and 224Gbps SERDES, DDR, and processor interfaces function efficiently within demanding system budgets.

Your responsibilities will include developing, extracting, and simulating PCB structures across production systems and test boards. You will define critical components such as launches, via structures, transmission lines, stack-ups, and low-loss materials for future designs. This position encompasses simulation, lab validation, and practical design influence, guiding projects from concept through prototype bring-up, debugging, validation, and support for manufacturing.

You will be part of the Hardware Engineering team, collaborating closely with PCB, package substrate, system architecture, and supplier teams. Your role will require you to take ownership of signal integrity decisions across complex board and package interfaces, emphasizing careful analysis, pace, and clear communication when addressing challenges.

What Weâ??re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong experience in high-speed digital circuit development, with deep knowledge of signal and power integrity.
• Experience with high-frequency SERDES design and validation, including operations at tens of GHz.
• Expertise in using tools such as ANSYS SIWave, HFSS, Mentor HyperLynx, or similar.
• The ability to design BGA and connector launches, as well as via structures and transmission lines for GHz signals.
• Hands-on lab experience with VNAs, high-speed oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
• A rigorous approach to design, debugging, and validation, along with strong ownership and communication skills.
