We are seeking a skilled Simulation & Modelling Engineer to join a cutting-edge engineering company based in Cambridgeshire, England. This role involves working on complex, multidisciplinary projects that sit at the crossroads of physics, software, and systems engineering. The successful candidate will have the chance to develop detailed physics-based models of sophisticated engineering systems, enabling analysis of system behavior and interactions through simulation.
Your responsibilities will include supporting system design, integration, and verification processes by creating and utilizing models. You will work closely with engineers from software, electronics, and systems backgrounds to ensure seamless collaboration and project success. Applying core mathematical and physical principles to solve technical challenges will be a key part of your role, helping to turn theoretical models into practical, real-world technology.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Design and develop physics-based models of complex engineering systems to simulate their operation accurately.
- Use simulation tools to analyze how systems behave and interact under different scenarios.
- Support the design, integration, and testing phases of projects through modeling efforts.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including software, electronics, and systems engineers, to achieve project objectives.
- Apply mathematical and physical principles to address technical problems and optimize system performance.
Candidate Requirements and Skills
- Hold a university degree in Electronics, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Have demonstrable experience in developing engineering models or simulation environments.
- Possess strong engineering fundamentals and a solid understanding of physical principles.
- Be proficient in MATLAB and Simulink for modeling and simulation tasks.
- Have a good grasp of systems engineering principles.
- Additional experience in at least one of the following areas is desirable: Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), Simulink Embedded Coder or HDL Coder, Digital Signal Processing (DSP), or Radar signal processing.
