This role involves managing the end-to-end process of identifying, negotiating, and securing new sites for telecommunications and data infrastructure. The successful candidate will develop and execute site acquisition strategies, negotiate lease and purchase agreements, and coordinate with internal teams such as engineering, legal, and regulatory departments to ensure smooth deployment of new sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire site acquisition process, ensuring alignment with Microsoft’s growth objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with landowners, property developers, and local authorities to facilitate site procurement.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and due diligence to evaluate potential locations for technical viability and compliance with regulations.
  • Develop comprehensive strategies for site acquisition, including budgeting, timelines, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Negotiate lease agreements, purchase contracts, and other legal documents necessary to finalize site acquisitions.
  • Coordinate with engineering, legal, and regulatory teams to ensure all sites meet safety, environmental, and legal standards.
  • Monitor market trends, land prices, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decisions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management regarding progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Support the integration of new sites into existing network infrastructure, ensuring operational readiness and seamless deployment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Significant experience in site acquisition, real estate negotiations, or infrastructure development, ideally within the telecommunications or tech industries.
  • Deep knowledge of UK property law, land use policies, and permitting procedures.
  • Proven negotiation skills and ability to manage relationships with external stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical skills to conduct site assessments, market analysis, and feasibility studies.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including legal, engineering, and regulatory units.
  • Knowledge of the UK telecoms or infrastructure market is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
