Cisco is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team based in London, United Kingdom. This role involves ensuring the stability, performance, and resilience of our critical systems and services, supporting Cisco’s product and engineering initiatives. The engineer will be responsible for designing and maintaining scalable infrastructure solutions, monitoring system health, troubleshooting issues, and automating operational tasks to enhance efficiency. Collaboration with development teams to embed reliability practices into software development processes is essential, along with participating in on-call rotations to provide continuous support for production environments.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in site reliability engineering or a similar field within large-scale environments. A strong understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, along with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, is required. Candidates should possess solid Linux/Unix systems knowledge, scripting skills in languages like Python or Bash, and familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack is also important. The role demands analytical problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative approach to working with diverse teams. A proactive attitude focused on continuous improvement is highly valued.
