Lenovo is seeking a highly experienced senior legal professional to lead the interpretation and application of the European Union Artificial Intelligence Act (EU AI Act) in relation to its business operations and product offerings. This role involves understanding complex regulatory requirements, collaborating with government relations teams and external counsel to engage with regulators, and supporting the development of compliance strategies across the organization.

The successful candidate will provide expert legal advice to various internal teams regarding AI-related legal matters, ensuring Lenovoâ??s products and services meet all regulatory standards. They will serve as a key subject matter expert on AI law within the global legal team, helping to navigate the evolving legal landscape surrounding artificial intelligence technologies.

Key responsibilities include analyzing and applying the EU AI Act requirements to Lenovoâ??s operations, negotiating agreements with vendors, customers, and technology partners concerning AI products and services, and working closely with compliance teams to implement effective measures. The role also involves strategic engagement with regulators and external agencies to ensure Lenovoâ??s compliance and proactive legal positioning.

Applicants should hold a Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM) degree and be admitted to practice law. They must have at least 12 years of experience in legal counseling, drafting, and negotiation within fast-paced environments, preferably with a focus on AI, software, SaaS, or related technological fields. Demonstrated expertise in interpreting legal and regulatory frameworks for advanced technology is essential.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with senior executives and diverse stakeholders. Critical thinking, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines are crucial. Strong communication skills, integrity, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach are also required. The role involves occasional international travel.
