Capgemini is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and some development skills in .NET C#. This role is based in Glasgow, UK, and involves maintaining and enhancing critical production systems to ensure high reliability, scalability, and operational excellence across cloud environments. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining time at company offices, client sites, and remote work, depending on individual and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, support, and maintain essential applications and cloud infrastructure to guarantee optimal performance and availability.
- Engage in incident management, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve issues swiftly to minimize operational disruptions.
- Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to detect potential problems early.
- Automate operational tasks and workflows to improve system reliability through automation and self-healing mechanisms.
- Support the deployment and release of software updates, ensuring smooth and reliable production releases and deployments.
- Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, following best practices for security, scalability, and cost management.
- Troubleshoot issues related to cloud infrastructure and applications, providing timely resolutions.
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery processes.
- Automate deployment workflows and operational procedures using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, developing scripts and automation utilities.
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance software delivery and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to application improvements and operational tooling using .NET and C# technologies.
- Support production environments by troubleshooting and fixing application issues, ensuring high performance and stability.
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to engineering best practices to maintain high-quality standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Significant experience as an SRE or DevOps Engineer, particularly with AWS cloud services such as EC2, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, Route 53, SNS, SQS, and Secrets Manager.
- Proven ability to design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure.
- Strong automation skills, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Moderate development experience in .NET and C#, capable of supporting application development and operational tooling.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for complex cloud and application issues, with a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Deep understanding of monitoring, alerting, and observability tools to ensure system reliability.
- Ability to automate workflows and improve system resilience through scripting and automation tools.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with development and operations teams.
- Experience supporting production environments in a fast-paced, high-availability setting.
