Our client, a leading semiconductor company based in Edinburgh, Scotland, is seeking an experienced Staff AMS Verification Engineer to join their team. This role involves ensuring the functional accuracy and reliability of complex analog and mixed-signal application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) through advanced verification techniques. The successful candidate will work closely with system architects, design engineers, DFT teams, and verification specialists to deliver high-quality silicon solutions that meet rigorous standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate the correctness and robustness of mixed-signal ASIC designs using sophisticated verification methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop verification plans, create test environments, and analyze simulation data.
  • Implement verification environments utilizing industry-standard tools such as SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Automate repetitive verification tasks with scripting languages like Python, Perl, and Tcl to enhance productivity and accuracy.
  • Contribute to refining verification processes and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support integration and debugging activities during the verification phase, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports on verification activities and outcomes.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor’s or MasterĂ¢??s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Have at least ten years of specialized experience in analog and mixed-signal verification.
  • Be proficient with simulation tools such as Synopsys VCS and Cadence Xcelium.
  • Have practical experience with SystemVerilog and UVM verification environments.
  • Understand the principles of mixed-signal circuit design and verification challenges.
  • Experience with the Virtuoso platform for analog design verification is highly desirable.
  • Skilled in scripting with Python, Perl, and Tcl to automate verification workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
