You will work on creating physical hardware prototypes used for software development and validation, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and specify new hardware platform requirements, ensuring they meet project goals and performance standards.
  • Design and develop hardware components, including schematics and PCB layouts, for cutting-edge embedded systems.
  • Oversee the commissioning process of new hardware platforms, ensuring they function correctly and reliably.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across different locations to align on design specifications and integration plans.
  • Establish and follow PCB routing guidelines, including topologies and signal integrity considerations, to optimize performance.
  • Conduct initial signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analyses to validate design choices and identify potential issues early.
  • Work closely with hardware leads to assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource estimation to ensure timely delivery.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance hardware design processes and quality.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong understanding of electronics, embedded compute systems, and complex PCB design involving high-pin-count SoC and LSI devices such as FPGAs and CPLDs.
  • Expertise in high-speed digital design, with detailed knowledge of high-speed I/O standards like PCIe Gen 5/6/7 and memory technologies such as LPDDR5/6.
  • In-depth knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity techniques from a holistic board design perspective.
  • Extensive experience defining PCB stack-ups, impedance-controlled routing, and managing complex topologies.
  • Proficiency with EDA tools such as Cadence OrCAD CIS and Allegro PCB suite for schematic entry and PCB layout.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded hardware debugging using laboratory equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and VNAs.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of producing clear hardware specifications, design documentation, and test plans.
  • A structured, problem-solving approach and a desire to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience with the full hardware development lifecycle, including NPI, working with ODMs and external design partners.
  • Knowledge of high-level programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
  • Familiarity with mechanical design concepts and thermal management strategies.
