Join Arm as a Staff Engineer specializing in AI Developer Tools and Platforms, where your work will directly support the creation of developer environments that make AI software development on Arm architecture straightforward and user-friendly. Our team focuses on building developer platforms and tools that help users maximize the potential of Arm technology, ensuring high-quality, practical solutions for deploying AI workloads accelerated by Arm-based hardware.
Role Overview
In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining APIs, libraries, and tools that serve as reliable abstractions over hardware, deployment environments, and runtime capabilities. You will take on a technical leadership role by identifying gaps in current AI developer tooling, influencing architectural decisions, and helping to shape product roadmaps. Your focus will be on delivering exceptional developer experiences by applying the latest technologies and optimizing workflows to meet real-world constraints such as performance, power efficiency, reliability, observability, and reproducibility.
Collaboration is key; you will work closely with engineering teams, product managers, UX specialists, and developers across Arm to understand user needs, reduce friction, and ensure that technical decisions support the broader product and ecosystem goals. Promoting software quality and ecosystem adoption will be part of your responsibilities, achieved through rigorous testing, code reviews, designing user-friendly interfaces, maintaining clean code, and contributing to open-source projects when appropriate.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience with Linux systems and containerization technologies.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, Rust, or TypeScript.
- Proven track record of developing maintainable, high-quality software with automated testing, continuous integration, and effective engineering practices.
- Ability to quickly understand new domains, identify improvement opportunities, and develop practical solutions.
- Strong enthusiasm for building developer tools and workflows that make complex AI capabilities accessible and easy to use for target developers.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Interest in learning new technologies beyond current expertise.
- Experience in building developer-facing CLIs, SDKs, APIs, or web tools, with a focus on UX and developer workflows.
- Knowledge of Arm architectures and neural network inference runtimes, including computational graphs, operators, memory management, and heterogeneous hardware execution.
- Experience with hardware-aware model optimization techniques such as quantization, graph optimization, operator fusion, and profiling across latency, memory, and accuracy metrics.
- Familiarity with ML frameworks and deployment tools like PyTorch, ONNX, TensorFlow Lite, and OpenVINO, including model inspection, visualization, and benchmarking across CPUs, GPUs, and accelerators.
What We Offer
Our team provides a highly inclusive and collaborative environment, working on a diverse array of products and technology stacks. This role offers ample opportunities to learn, grow, and challenge yourself while shaping practical developer platforms and workflows for emerging AI workloads on Arm. You will have the chance to work on innovative, greenfield software products that are launched alongside new Arm hardware from day one.
