Join Arm as a Staff Software Engineer specializing in Machine Learning (ML) tooling, based in Cambridge, UK. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and developing software frameworks and automation tools that enable large-scale validation and performance analysis of ML workloads across a variety of Arm hardware platforms. Your work will involve creating systems that facilitate the execution, data collection, and visualization of ML benchmarks, ensuring efficient and reliable performance assessments.

Our team is passionate about enhancing ML performance across Armâ??s ecosystem, working on scalable workflows that support timely and high-quality software releases. We collaborate closely with ML software, system, and IP teams to define requirements and implement improvements, while also exploring how future Arm architectures can be optimized for ML workloads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine frameworks and tooling to run ML workloads and benchmarks on heterogeneous Arm platforms and testing farms.
  • Automate the execution, data collection, and visualization processes to streamline validation and performance evaluation.
  • Partner with cross-disciplinary teams to gather requirements and drive system enhancements.
  • Investigate and influence ML performance on upcoming hardware architectures and pre-silicon platforms.
  • Design systems that support large-scale ML validation rather than writing individual test cases.

  • Comfort working on Linux or Mac operating systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and an appreciation for diversity and intercultural collaboration.

Desirable Skills

  • Understanding of operating system fundamentals such as processes, file systems, and resource management.
  • Experience with pre-silicon hardware or hardware bring-up environments.
  • Experience running workloads on FPGAs, mobile devices, or development boards.
  • Knowledge of ML frameworks, compilers, or model execution flows.
  • Background in data visualization or performance analytics.

Even if you do not meet every technical requirement, your curiosity, willingness to learn, and ambition to make an impact are highly valued. If you require visa sponsorship, Arm will cover the costs related to sponsorship for the employer. However, all application fees, including visa and health surcharge, will be borne by the candidate.
