We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Infrastructure Solutions Software team within the CE-SW group. This role involves a blend of technical leadership and hands-on engineering, with responsibility for guiding and developing a team that creates complex software for cloud and data center products. The successful candidate will provide strategic technical direction, foster team growth, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software across the entire development lifecycle, from pre-silicon stages through silicon bring-up and production readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, offering technical guidance, coaching, and management support while actively participating in technical tasks.
  • Drive the teamâ??s technical efforts across SoC, firmware, and system software, ensuring successful development from initial stages to manufacturing.
  • Plan and organize engineering activities by breaking down requirements into actionable tasks, estimating effort, and setting clear goals and deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively with hardware, software, architecture, and other engineering teams to manage dependencies, troubleshoot issues, and deliver reliable, high-quality software solutions.

Requirements and Skills

  • Significant experience in developing complex system software within embedded or infrastructure SoC environments.
  • Proven leadership in managing and developing engineering teams, with strong technical expertise and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep knowledge of low-level system components such as bootloaders, device drivers, and operating system fundamentals, with a preference for Linux-based systems.
  • Strong programming skills in C or similar languages, with demonstrated ability to debug and optimize software performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of Linux kernel, Trusted Firmware-A (TF-A), UEFI EDK II, OpenBMC, or Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM).
  • Familiarity with server-class SoCs, including features like RAS, power management, PCI Express (PCIe), Compute Express Link (CXL), memory systems, and virtualization technologies.

Salary Range

£97,300 to £131,700 annually.
