Arm is seeking an experienced Verification Engineer specialized in high-speed IO interfaces such as PCIe and CXL, to join our Solutions Engineering team in Cambridge. This role involves verifying the functionality and performance of subsystem-level IOs, working alongside architects, RTL designers, and verification engineers across the UK, US, Canada, and India. The team is focused on developing next-generation silicon solutions based on Armâ??s IP, utilizing cutting-edge process nodes like 3nm and innovative 3D packaging techniques. This initiative aims to demonstrate industry-leading performance, pushing the boundaries of semiconductor design and verification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop verification strategies for high-speed IO subsystems, including PCIe and CXL, at the subsystem level.
  • Review architecture and design specifications to understand system microarchitecture requirements.
  • Create detailed test plans and develop verification environments using SystemVerilog, Verilog, and UVM methodologies.
  • Build and execute testbenches to validate system functionality, interoperability, and performance.
  • Debug and troubleshoot verification failures to ensure system robustness.
  • Improve verification methodologies to enhance coverage and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with design and system teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and activity management related to verification tasks.
  • Mentor junior verification engineers and support team development initiatives.

Requirements

  • A bachelorâ??s or masterâ??s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • More than five years of experience verifying complex PCIe or CXL subsystems or SoCs.
  • Strong knowledge of digital hardware design and proficiency in Verilog HDL.
  • Experience verifying PCIe, CXL, and IDE features, including performance analysis.
  • Understanding of System Memory Management Units (SMMU) and GIC integration with PCIe.
  • Hands-on experience working with PCIe and CXL IP cores and developing emulation-friendly transactors.
  • Familiarity with simulation and emulation platforms for hardware verification.
  • Proficiency in debugging verification issues using industry-standard tools.
  • Expertise in UVM-based verification environments and methodologies.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive test plans, track verification tasks, and achieve sign-off.
  • Knowledge of formal verification techniques is advantageous.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience with Arm-based designs or ARM system architectures.
  • Knowledge of clock domain crossing verification and power-aware verification techniques.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl or Python.
  • Experience with AI tools like Codex to support verification processes.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this role is between £97,300 and £131,700.
