Capgemini is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their team working on the Cooling Water Island project in Bristol. This role involves delivering detailed structural analysis, design, and assessment services for infrastructure projects within the GBEâ??N programme, focusing on reinforced concrete, steel, and civil structures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and reviewing structural calculations, developing models, creating technical drawings, and preparing specifications and reports. They will support the development of design justifications and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements, regulatory standards, and governance policies.

Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, process, construction, and safety teams to develop integrated engineering solutions. You will also undertake assessments under various conditions, including normal operations, construction phases, environmental scenarios, and extreme loading situations such as seismic events where necessary.

Participation in design reviews, technical assurance activities, and resolving engineering queries will be part of your responsibilities to maintain high standards of quality and compliance. Ensuring that all designs meet applicable codes, standards, quality requirements, and legal obligations such as CDM 2015 is essential.

The role also involves supporting continuous improvement initiatives, sharing knowledge across the team, and mentoring graduate and early-career engineers to foster professional growth.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and be working towards Chartered Engineer status or possess equivalent professional experience. They should have significant experience in the structural design and analysis of reinforced concrete, steel, and civil infrastructure, particularly in coastal and marine environments.

Familiarity with UK and international design codes, complex loading scenarios, and processes related to engineering assurance and reporting is required. Proficiency in structural analysis software and experience working within multidisciplinary teams supporting regulated industries such as infrastructure, energy, or nuclear sectors are also important.
