Summer Intern Maintenance Overview

As a Summer Intern in Maintenance at BAE Systems, you will play a vital role in the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation, contributing to the safety and operational effectiveness of military aircraft. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience in various aspects of airworthiness management, including Fleet Management and Maintenance Planning.

Core Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of continuing airworthiness services to ensure the safety of aircraft platforms.
• Attend BAE Systems customer locations and engage with aircraft maintenance organizations and supply chain teams.
• Participate in various Continuing Airworthiness Management disciplines such as Fleet Management, Maintenance Planning, and Technical Information Management.
• Compile and present aircraft status reports.
• Monitor and analyze aircraft operating performance.
• Develop and implement management plans for aircraft and component maintenance.
• Conduct performance studies on aircraft and components as needed.
• Evaluate current operational methods and identify improvement opportunities, especially with new technologies.
• Engage actively in team discussions, contributing both technically and behaviorally.

Qualifications

To be eligible for this internship, you must be on track to achieve at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.

Working Pattern

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with an expectation to be on-site three days a week.
