Google is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Technical Lead Manager to head the Digital Wellbeing team focused on Android. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Digital Wellbeing engineering team, setting the technical vision and ensuring effective execution.
• Develop and nurture a positive team environment that encourages innovation and high performance.
• Operate in a cross-functional leadership capacity, working with various teams and stakeholders across the organization.
• Take responsibility for addressing complex digital health challenges through AI and machine learning solutions.
• Ensure that the teamâ??s codebase, processes, and technological approaches are optimized to utilize the latest advancements.
• Collaborate with global partners and internal teams to align efforts and share best practices.
• Manage internal stakeholders, especially as Digital Wellbeing becomes a more prominent focus within the company.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a bachelorâ??s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• Have at least 8 years of experience in software development, demonstrating a solid technical foundation.
• Have a minimum of 5 years working with recommendation systems, including retrieval, prediction, ranking, and embedding models, in production environments.
• Bring at least 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, managing projects and guiding engineering teams.
• Possess 2 or more years in a people management or team leadership capacity.
• Preferred candidates will have experience with Android development using Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with implementing on-device machine learning or AI features is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage teams and deliver results.
• Demonstrated passion for AI adoption and a personal interest in Digital Wellbeing initiatives.
• Excellent collaboration skills, with a portfolio showcasing cross-functional projects centered on user needs.
