Google is seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager to oversee the LongHaul Network Planning for the EMEA region. This role involves leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects focused on developing and optimizing Googleâ??s network infrastructure to meet regional and global demands. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire planning process, from analyzing demand forecasts to translating these into detailed capacity and asset requirements, ensuring solutions are cost-effective, scalable, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead network planning activities across the EMEA region, supporting product demand forecasts and infrastructure development.
  • Develop and manage transparent planning pipelines and processes to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Analyze demand data for all network flows within EMEA, translating insights into regional capacity plans that incorporate market trends and technological changes.
  • Design optimized network solutions by converting demand forecasts into detailed infrastructure requirements, balancing cost and performance.
  • Perform technical risk assessments using scenario analyses to identify potential issues and ensure robust planning.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including business units, technical experts, and negotiators, to define project requirements, assess feasibility, and streamline delivery processes.
  • Manage long-term infrastructure planning, making strategic decisions to optimize capital investments and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to enhance network scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency, supporting new product launches and operational needs.
  • Engage in strategic discussions on global network infrastructure, including fiber optic and submarine cable systems, to support Googleâ??s expanding network ecosystem.
  • Utilize data-driven analysis to investigate issues, identify opportunities, and support continuous improvement in network planning and deployment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorâ??s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of five years managing complex programs, particularly in network infrastructure or related areas.
  • Experience with network architecture, infrastructure planning, and project management.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic systems, submarine cables, and carrier networks within EMEA and globally.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations, identifying opportunities for process and infrastructure optimization.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and infrastructure assets.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Financial understanding to evaluate project costs and investments.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences, including executives and technical teams.
