This role of Technical Project Manager is based in Edinburgh, Scotland, and offers a salary of up to £65,000. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage intricate R&D projects involving engineering teams and external collaborators, ensuring project milestones and objectives are achieved.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, milestones, and risk logs, and oversee timely project delivery.
  • Support the management and reporting of grant-funded programs, ensuring compliance and monitoring progress through meetings and documentation.
  • Coordinate relationships with manufacturing foundries, commercial partners, and research organizations to facilitate project success.
  • Assist leadership and investors by providing clear, regular updates on project status and key developments.
  • Identify dependencies, manage risks, and adapt to changing priorities within a dynamic startup environment to keep projects on track.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience managing hardware or deep-technology projects that involve complex technical challenges.
  • Background working within venture capital-backed startups, scale-ups, or advanced R&D environments.
  • Familiarity with managing grant-funded projects, including structured reporting and compliance processes.
  • Strong communication skills capable of bridging technical and commercial teams effectively.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor, photonics, or foundry-driven development processes is advantageous.
  • Formal project management certification such as PRINCE2 or similar qualification is preferred.
