About the Role
The primary responsibility of this position is to craft clear, compelling narratives based on intricate AGI research, making sophisticated concepts understandable and engaging. You will work closely with technical experts to extract key insights, ensuring accuracy and clarity in every piece of content. Your work will support the dissemination of DeepMindâ??s insights to the wider world, helping to establish their voice within the AI community and beyond.
You will also assist in proofreading, fact-checking, and preparing manuscripts for publication, supporting the Lead Content Editor. Additionally, you will handle the technical preparation of content for upload into Content Management Systems (CMS), coordinating with operational teams to ensure timely publication.

Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelorâ??s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in technical writing, science communication, or journalism.
- Experience working collaboratively with subject matter experts such as engineers and researchers to produce technical content.
- Strong copy-editing and proofreading skills to ensure content quality.
- Experience in fast-paced environments like academic institutions, think tanks, or research labs.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to build trust with technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency with digital publishing workflows and Content Management Systems (CMS).
- Ability to adapt writing style for different audiences and platforms.
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or AGI, including understanding of their social and technical implications.
- Knowledge of academic citation standards and rigorous fact-checking methodologies.
- Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into engaging narratives accessible to a broad audience.
