Graphcore is seeking a Trade Compliance and Logistics Specialist to join their Supply Chain team based in Bristol. This role is integral to ensuring the company’s adherence to export control laws while facilitating the smooth movement of goods and technology across international borders. The successful candidate will support daily trade compliance activities, including managing export licensing processes, responding to internal queries about technology transfers, and conducting compliance checks on various partners.
Reporting directly to the Trade Compliance Manager, the specialist will assist with determining when export licenses are necessary, applying for licenses, or identifying suitable exemptions. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records related to export activities, ensuring all documentation complies with regulatory standards. Additionally, the role involves supporting shipment arrangements from the UK and providing compliance guidance to other teams within the company.
Team and Department Context
The Trade Compliance & Logistics Specialist will be part of Graphcoreâ??s Supply Chain team, which operates within the broader Operations group. The team includes members based in Bristol and Taiwan, focusing on developing and managing a resilient manufacturing subcontract supply chain. Collaboration with colleagues across Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, and other departments is essential to support compliant exports, technology transfers, and international shipments.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Experience in trade compliance, preferably within a high-tech or electronics environment.
- Knowledge of US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and their application in international trade.
- Experience in supporting or coordinating international shipments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex compliance systems and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting and explaining compliance requirements clearly and effectively.
- Highly organized with a keen eye for detail, capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently.
- Confidence in engaging with internal stakeholders and responding pragmatically to compliance-related questions.
