As an Undergraduate Airframe Engineer at BAE Systems, you will engage in a 12-month placement starting in June 2027 at our Prestwick location in Ayrshire. This role is part of our Graduate, Placement, and Summer Internship Programme, specifically within the Airframe Engineering career stream.

Your responsibilities will encompass various disciplines within Airframe Engineering, including:

• Aerodynamics: You will analyze and optimize aircraft designs through wind tunnel testing and computational techniques, ensuring safe operation across the flight envelope.
• Design Engineering: Your role will involve stakeholder liaison, managing product bill of materials, and creating CAD definitions for optimized and manufacturable products.
• Materials Engineering: You will analyze, qualify, and test materials, investigate material properties and failures, and develop new materials for airborne platforms.
• Structures Engineering: You will undertake structural analysis calculations to validate the strength, stiffness, and structural life of BAE Systems platforms.

To qualify for this role, you must be on track to obtain at least a 2:2 Bachelorâ??s degree or a pass at Masterâ??s level in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
