Join BAE Systems as an Undergraduate Human Factors Engineer and be part of a team dedicated to pioneering advancements in defense, aerospace, and security. This 12-month placement, commencing in June 2027, is based at our Warton/Samlesbury location in Lancashire, where you will work closely with a diverse team of professionals.

Role Overview

As a Human Factors Engineer, you will contribute to the design and development of systems and services, focusing on optimizing user interaction to enhance mission effectiveness. Your role will involve gathering assessment data, supporting analysis, and documenting results while collaborating with engineers across various disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Work within a team of Human Factors Practitioners to understand the integration of science, psychology, and engineering in product design.
• Develop knowledge of human factors processes, tools, and techniques.
• Support research and development through literature reviews, experiments, data analysis, and documentation.
• Enhance your technical communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Engage with the wider human factors community to foster collaboration and networking opportunities.

Team Context

The Air Team at BAE Systems has a rich history in developing and supporting advanced combat and trainer aircraft, including the Typhoon, F-35, and Tempest. You will gain insights into the complexities of integrated air systems while working alongside experienced professionals.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you should be on track to obtain a minimum of a 2:2 Bachelorâ??s degree or a pass at Masterâ??s level in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Engineering Product Design, UX, Psychology, or a related STEM subject.
