Undergraduate Procurement Overview

As an Undergraduate Procurement candidate at BAE Systems, you will engage in a 12-month placement starting in June 2027, located in Rochester, Kent. This role involves working closely with Category Management and Integrated Project Teams to ensure that procurement activities deliver value for money through effective management and supplier coordination.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with teams to manage supplier selection and contract negotiations for third-party requirements.
• Building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Producing key reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Managing the supply base through Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to enhance performance.
• Processing requisitions and Purchase Orders in accordance with Procurement procedures.
• Identifying opportunities for cost reduction through effective negotiations with suppliers.
• Maintaining accurate supplier order books and ensuring data integrity in the ERP system.
• Processing supplier returns and understanding root causes and corrective actions.
• Engaging with suppliers on key performance indicators and addressing issues at senior levels.

To qualify for this role, you must be on track to achieve at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Finance. You should also possess effective relationship management skills and an understanding of procurement procedures and budget requirements.
