Undergraduate Project Management & Control Overview

As an Undergraduate in Project Management & Control, you will gain hands-on experience and knowledge in project management principles while contributing to significant projects within the aerospace sector. This role is based at our Samlesbury/Warton locations in Lancashire and is designed for students looking to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting.

Role Overview

During your 12-month placement, you will engage in various aspects of project management, including the development and maintenance of Performance Measurement Baselines, and managing risks and opportunities. You will also be involved in change control processes, ensuring that governance and budget alignment are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn and apply project management and project controls principles across the project lifecycle.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of Performance Measurement Baselines.
• Support risk and opportunity management and change control processes.
• Collect and analyze cost and performance data for project reporting.
• Engage with stakeholders through regular project reviews and meetings.
• Monitor and track project spending against established profiles.
• Contribute to the Baseline Change Control process.
• Help develop project plans outlining key milestones and resource requirements.
• Support the Project Manager in delivering project objectives.
• Develop detailed and summary schedules for project monitoring.
• Coordinate projects to ensure risks are managed and updated.

Team Context

You will be part of the Air Team, which has a rich history in developing and supporting advanced combat and trainer aircraft. Your contributions will support the design and production of aircraft such as the Typhoon, F-35, and Tempest.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you must be on track to achieve at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in relevant fields such as STEM, Business, Finance, Legal, Project Management, or IT.
