Join BAE Systems as an Undergraduate Software Engineer and become part of a global network dedicated to pioneering progress in defence, aerospace, and security solutions. This 12-month placement, starting in June 2027, is based in Rochester, Kent, where you will work closely with Electronic and Systems Engineers to develop complex Safety Critical Software.

Role Description

As a Software Engineer, you will be assigned to a project where your contributions will address engineering challenges. Your responsibilities will encompass the full Software Lifecycle, including:

• Developing and maintaining software solutions.
• Testing, debugging, and improving software to ensure quality and reliability.
• Supporting software integration, release, and maintenance activities.
• Producing technical documentation and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver assigned tasks.

The Electronic Systems Team

With over 70 years of experience, the Electronic Systems Team delivers leading controls and display solutions, including advanced technologies like the Striker II Helmet and flight control computers.

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must be on track to obtain at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in any STEM subject.
