Undergraduate Systems Engineer Overview

As an Undergraduate Systems Engineer at BAE Systems, you will embark on a 12-month placement starting in June 2027, based at our Warton/Samlesbury location in Lancashire. This role offers a competitive salary of £25,900 and involves a hybrid working model, requiring on-site attendance 3-5 days per week.

In this position, you will be involved in various aspects of systems engineering, including but not limited to:

• Requirements Management
• System Specification
• Research, Design & Development
• Systems Modelling & Integration
• Qualification, Certification & Acceptance
• Product Support

You will have the opportunity to work on significant projects such as the Typhoon, Future Combat Air System, Autonomous Systems, and Mission Support Products, providing critical capabilities to both national and international customers. Additionally, you will gain insights into schedule management, cost control, stakeholder engagement, and through-life support while considering safety and environmental factors.

The Air Team at BAE Systems has a rich history in the development and support of advanced combat and fast jet trainer aircraft, operating globally to support the design and production of aircraft like the Typhoon, F-35, and Tempest.

To qualify for this role, you must be on track to obtain a minimum of a 2:2 Bachelorâ??s degree or a pass at Masterâ??s level in relevant subjects such as Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace, Technology, Systems, or Engineering.
