Role Overview

The Undergraduate Systems Engineer position is a 12-month placement starting in June 2027. You will have the opportunity to work in various areas including Systems Engineering, Mission Systems, Flight Systems, Electromagnetics, and Test & Evaluation. Your contributions will support national and international customers on projects involving cutting-edge products such as Typhoon and Future Combat Air Systems.

Core Responsibilities

• Engage in requirements management to ensure project specifications are met.
• Contribute to system specification development for various engineering projects.
• Participate in research, design, and development activities.
• Assist in systems modeling and integration tasks.
• Support qualification, certification, and acceptance processes for products.
• Provide product support to ensure operational effectiveness.

Team Context

The Air Team at BAE Systems has a rich history in the development and support of combat and fast jet trainer aircraft. We are involved in the design, production, and provision of aircraft like Typhoon, F-35, and Tempest, operating globally to deliver excellence in aviation technology.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you must be on track to achieve at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace, Technology, Systems, or Engineering.
