Our client, an established semiconductor company based in the UK, is currently expanding its engineering team at the Newbury site and is seeking a skilled Verification Manager. This role offers a compelling mix of technical and managerial responsibilities, with the successful candidate remaining actively involved in verification strategies, technical discussions, and project delivery, rather than shifting solely to people management. The team is undergoing development, providing the Verification Manager with significant influence over operational aspects such as verification methodologies, processes, team structure, organizational culture, and technical growth initiatives.

The Verification Manager will work in close partnership with engineering leaders and other stakeholders to define verification strategies, oversee project progress, and identify opportunities for process and team improvements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing or leading digital verification engineers and a strong background in verifying complex integrated circuits (ICs).

Key Responsibilities

• Leading verification efforts for complex ICs, ensuring strategies are effectively executed across projects.
• Collaborating with engineering leadership to establish and refine verification methodologies and approaches.
• Monitoring project timelines, identifying potential issues, and implementing process improvements.
• Shaping team structure, culture, and technical development initiatives to foster a productive and innovative environment.
• Mentoring verification engineers at various experience levels, supporting their technical and professional growth.
• Engaging in technical discussions related to verification strategies, debugging, and problem-solving at RTL and verification levels.
• Developing verification metrics such as code coverage and functional coverage to evaluate verification completeness and quality.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience managing or leading digital verification teams in a semiconductor setting.
• Strong expertise in verifying complex ICs with hands-on experience in verification methodologies.
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM, including assertions and coverage-driven verification techniques.
• Ability to develop verification strategies supported by metrics like code and functional coverage.
• Proven ability to mentor and support engineers at different levels, promoting technical development.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills across RTL and verification environments.
• A technical mindset capable of making informed decisions and resolving complex verification issues.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
