Capgemini is seeking a highly experienced Vice President of Industrial Operations Engineering to serve as a strategic partner for defense and industrial clients. This senior role involves close collaboration with client operational teams, particularly plant managers, industrial directors, and COOs, to support and accelerate their manufacturing ramp-up processes. The successful candidate will focus on high-potential production sites, providing hands-on guidance and strategic oversight.

Position Overview

The Industrial Sparring Partner (ISP) is a senior professional with substantial industrial credibility and experience. They act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping to optimize and transform their industrial operations. The role includes working closely with the Global Client Partner (GCP) and account teams to develop tailored engagement models, share KPIs, and oversee client commitments. The ISP also plays a key role in identifying new project opportunities, supporting business growth, and contributing to the defense sectorâ??s industrial ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior operational partner for industrial leadership, providing on-site support 2 to 4 days per week to facilitate decision-making and KPI sharing.
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of multi-disciplinary frameworks, ensuring risks are mitigated and performance targets are achieved.
  • Identify opportunities for business acceleration, assist in deal shaping, and develop results-oriented proposals aligned with client needs.
  • Contribute to the growth of Capgeminiâ??s defense platform by sharing knowledge, developing assets, and fostering the industrial ecosystem.
  • Promote cross-selling of Capgeminiâ??s industrial services across various business lines, including applications, engineering, and digital solutions.
  • Supervise and coordinate all industrial services delivered by different Capgemini units such as Apps, Sogeti, Invent, Engineering, and CIS within assigned accounts.
  • Support production development, supply chain management, quality assurance, workforce management, and digital transformation initiatives, including data and AI strategies.
  • Work with clients to define strategic transformation or ramp-up roadmaps, sharing insights on future challenges and innovations.
  • Build trust with client executives by validating commitments and demonstrating industrial expertise and leadership.

Candidate Profile

  • Over 15 years of extensive industrial experience in complex environments, ideally including defense, aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience in consulting, either through a firm or independently, with a focus on industrial strategy and performance improvement.
  • Operational leadership experience, such as managing or transforming industrial sites, with a focus on reducing cycle times, reorganizing operations, and redesigning supply chains.
  • Broad expertise in industrial performance areas, including lean methodologies, continuous improvement, quality, and logistics.
  • Proven ability to ramp up production in critical situations, including launching new lines or managing crises.
  • Strong knowledge of Industry 4.0 digital technologies like MES, IoT, data analytics, AI, and automation.
  • Cross-sector experience that allows for the application of best practices from different industries.
  • Deep understanding of the defense sectorâ??s specific challenges, especially related to industrial ramp-up.
  • Recognized credibility at the CXO level, with established relationships with senior decision-makers.
  • Ability to deliver strategic visions, transformation roadmaps, and innovative solutions.
  • Leadership qualities including manufacturing excellence, digital manufacturing, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent listening skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
  • Autonomous, responsible, results-oriented, and capable of managing complex projects independently.
