As a Workplace Services Manager in London, you will be responsible for enhancing the workplace experience for Googlers and guests. You will join the Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS) team, overseeing building operations at scale and managing a large vendor team that handles both hard and soft services. Your goal will be to ensure that facilities operate at the highest standards while fostering a vibrant, hospitality-focused environment that reflects Google’s brand narrative.

Your role will involve navigating stakeholder relationships across various internal functions. You will take ownership of operations, identify areas for improvement, prioritize critical infrastructure initiatives, and drive the implementation of global standards. With approximately 15 years of experience in facilities or hospitality management, you will have a proven track record of successfully managing projects, buildings, or property portfolios.

As a communicator and storyteller, you will be adept at translating high-level strategies into actionable operational parameters. You will possess an investigative mindset and a commitment to excellence, constantly seeking ways to improve efficiency while ensuring that users remain healthy, productive, and inspired by their workplace.

The REWS team is dedicated to creating inspiring spaces and innovative services that embody Google’s culture and values. We manage all aspects that keep our workspaces operating seamlessly across multiple cities and regions globally. This includes designing healthy and collaborative workspaces, providing energizing food experiences, and delivering environments conducive to employee growth.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Workplace Services to end users by partnering with Googlers to deeply understand their needs and deliver the right solutions, while influencing customers, clients, and internal organizations to reach consensus and compromise when needed.
  • Partner with stakeholders as a trusted advisor to enhance the employee experience, effectively communicating REWS mission and strategies to executive management through timely, relevant, thorough, and tailored communication across a matrixed organization.
  • Lead the implementation of hospitality strategy, shifting operations to a ‘One Team’ approach with cross-trained professionals and zero-gap handovers between vendors across the London campus.
  • Serve as the campus-wide custodian, ensuring consistent storytelling across all London sites, translating high-level narratives into actionable design and operational parameters, and acting as the creative mediator between business, REWS, and GDM.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
  • Possession of industry-related certifications such as BIFM or IFMA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in facility management or service, focusing on areas such as hospitality, corporate services, or property management.
  • Experience in project management, particularly in managing budgets and overseeing the end-to-end delivery of programs.
  • An advanced degree in a relevant field, such as an MBA or in Real Estate, is preferred.
  • Experience in creating and activating high-profile public spaces or initiatives, with a strong understanding of London’s cultural and community landscape.
  • Proven change management experience and expertise.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities, capable of articulating compelling goals to diverse audiences.
